You do not need special preparation for a first appointment. The essentials are simple: arrive without rushing, wear comfortable clothing and be ready for a short conversation about your health.

This checklist will help you plan the day calmly.

1. Wear comfortable clothing

Choose clothes that allow you to move and make it easy to uncover your forearms or lower legs. Many acupuncture appointments do not require you to undress.

Points may sometimes be on the back, abdomen, thigh or another covered area. If access is needed, Natasza will explain this first. She can leave the room while you change, and fresh towels are prepared for privacy.

2. Arrive a few minutes early

A few spare minutes let you come in, put down your things and begin without stress. You do not need to arrive a long time in advance.

If you know you will be late, contact Nat Medica. The appointment may need to be shortened so the next person is not delayed.

3. Eat a normal, light meal

Try not to arrive very hungry. An empty stomach can make some people more likely to feel light-headed. Avoid a very heavy meal immediately before lying on the treatment table.

You do not need a special diet, detox or fast before acupuncture.

4. Know your medicines and relevant health information

It helps to know the names of your medicines, recent procedures, allergies and important diagnoses. You do not need to send detailed records through the website.

Tell Natasza if:

  • you are pregnant or may be pregnant;
  • you are prone to fainting;
  • you have an active infection or skin problem in an area that may be treated;
  • you recently had a procedure or operation;
  • you take anticoagulant medicines.

Nat Medica does not provide acupuncture to people taking anticoagulants.

5. Do not stop medication on your own

Do not change a dose or stop prescribed medication before your appointment. Acupuncture does not replace prescribed treatment. Ask the person who prescribed a medicine if you have questions about it.

6. Ask about make-up before facial acupuncture

Make-up does not always need to be removed completely. If the plan requires part of the face to be cleansed, Natasza will explain this at the beginning. You do not need special skincare products before the appointment.

7. Allow a few calm minutes afterwards

Most people return to their normal day. Some feel sleepy, deeply relaxed or slightly light-headed. If this happens, sit for a while and do not drive until you feel fully alert.

The short checklist

  • comfortable clothing;
  • a light, normal meal;
  • a few spare minutes;
  • a list of important medicines and health information;
  • no changes to prescribed treatment on your own;
  • any questions you want to ask.

You do not need to prepare perfectly. If you forget something, most things can be discussed calmly at the beginning of the appointment.
